Practical details
Before You Book
Tour overlap, walking and time outside the guided visits.
- How much free time does the package include?
There is no guided tour on your arrival day or departure day. You have time for your own plans after hotel check-in and before your return transfer, depending on flight times. Days 2, 3 and 4 are full guided tour days.
- Do the Yellow and Green Tours share any stops?
Yes. Both include Pigeon Valley and an underground city visit. The Yellow Tour covers Rose Valley, Gulludere and Cavusin; the Green Tour adds Ihlara Valley, Belisirma and Yaprakhisar. The underground city choice follows the day's route, so different cities on the two days are not guaranteed.
- How much walking should I expect?
All three tours include walking at sights. The Yellow Tour's valley walk can take up to two hours and is optional; you can wait in the vehicle. Ihlara Valley includes steps and uneven paths. Underground city passages can be low and narrow, with stairs between levels.
- When can I book the optional balloon flight?
The balloon flight is scheduled for the morning of day 2, before the Red Tour. It costs extra and depends on weather. Travellers must be at least 6 years old; there is no child discount. If weather cancels the flight, the balloon fee is refunded.
- Do I change hotels during the trip?
No. You stay four nights at the same cave or stone hotel in Cappadocia, checking in on day 1 and out on day 5. Breakfast is included after each night. Istanbul accommodation before or after the package is separate.
