Guided Gallipoli battlefield visitsFrom around 13:00, follow the full circuit with a licensed English-speaking guide. Lunch in Eceabat is included during the day.

  • Gallipoli Battlefield AreasThe circuit starts with the relationship between the landing shores and the high ground. Seeing the distances and contours gives the campaign a physical setting.

  • Brighton BeachThe beach opens onto relatively level ground along this part of the coast. It provides a useful comparison with the steep terrain around the main Anzac landing area.

  • Beach CemeteryA small cemetery lies close to the shore used during the campaign. Its position ties the graves to the narrow coastal strip where troops first came ashore.

  • ANZAC CoveThe landing cove sits directly below rising slopes. Look from the beach toward the ridges to see how quickly the ground became difficult beyond the water.

  • Ari BurnuAt the edge of the cove, the headland and cemetery mark another part of the landing landscape. The guide relates this coastal position to the routes inland.

  • Lone Pine CemeteryThe cemetery and memorial occupy ground associated with fierce fighting in August 1915. The stop places the human losses alongside the contested ridge position.

  • Lunch in EceabatLunch is included as part of the Gallipoli day. Drinks are extra.

  • Johnston's JollyThe trench positions were separated by a short distance here. The surviving landscape helps show the closeness of the opposing lines.

  • Shrapnel ValleyThe valley leads up from the shore through exposed slopes. Follow its line with the guide to understand movement between the beach area and the inland fighting.

  • Turkish MemorialThe memorial recalls the Ottoman soldiers who defended the peninsula. The visit adds their experience to the wider account of the campaign.

  • The NekThe narrow ridge leaves little room between its falling sides. This setting helps explain the difficulties of the attack associated with the position.

  • Chunuk BairThe high ground gives a broad view of the surrounding battlefield. Its commanding position explains why the ridge became such an important objective.

Cross the strait to your hotelAfter the battlefield tour, take the ferry to Canakkale and continue to the hotel for check-in.

  • Sacrificial AltarsThe altar remains point to ritual activity within the ancient settlement. The guide explains their place in the changing religious life of Troy.

Practical details

Before You Book

Details for the Hattusa excursion, six Cappadocia nights and journeys between the hotel stays.

  • What is included in the Hattusa day?

The full day has a vehicle, licensed English-speaking guide, hotel transfers, entrance fees and lunch. It visits Yazilikaya, Hattusa, the Lion and King gates, the Sphinx Gate and Tunnel, Great Temple Complex, City Walls and Watchtowers, and Bogazkoy Museum.

  • How do the six Cappadocia nights fit the tours?

Arrive by road on day 11. Day 12 is free; the Red Tour is on day 13, Yellow on day 14, Hattusa on day 15 and Green on day 16. Stay at the same hotel throughout and fly to Istanbul on day 17.

  • Which day has the optional sunrise and evening activities?

Day 12 is the first morning after arrival. Select a balloon flight or ground watching as an extra. It is also a free day for one optional ATV, horse or camel ride, followed by the Turkish Night if booked. A balloon flight has minimum age 6; adventure rides have minimum age 10.

  • Is the Konya stop guided?

No. Day 11 includes a vehicle and driver, with an optional stop of up to about two hours in Konya. Choose how to use the time. Museum tickets, lunch and other purchases are extra.

  • How do we reach Kusadasi after Troy?

The day 5 tour finishes all six visits before the included transfer to Canakkale bus station. Take the daytime coach to Izmir, approximately five and a half hours, then meet the included transfer to the Kusadasi hotel. Lunch that day is at your expense.

  • Are the Antalya hotels beachfront?

High Class accommodation is beachfront. Standard and Middle Class hotels are near the beach, rather than beachfront. The hotel options show the properties offered in each class.

  • How much walking is involved in Cappadocia?

The underground city visits include steps and narrow passages. The Green Tour includes walking and steps in Ihlara Valley. On the Yellow Tour, the Gulludere walk is optional and can take up to two hours; guests who skip it may wait in the vehicle. Yellow and Green share Pigeon Valley and may use the same underground city.

  • What happens to the Grand Bazaar visit on Sunday?

For a Saturday package start, the full Old City tour falls on Sunday. The Grand Bazaar is closed that day, so the itinerary visits another shopping alternative. The other included Old City visits continue.

  • How long is the Hattusa day trip from Cappadocia?

The trip runs from about 08:00 to 19:00, with roughly three hours of driving each way. A guide and vehicle take you between the sites. You walk at the monuments and return to the same Cappadocia hotel.
