Practical details

Before You Book

Details for the road journeys, independent time and the four southeastern tour days.

  • Is Konya a guided tour?

No. Day 11 provides a vehicle and driver in both package options, with an optional independent stop of up to about two hours. Attraction tickets, a guide and lunch are extra. Allow about four hours from Antalya to Konya and three more to Cappadocia.

  • How do the Gallipoli, Troy and Pergamon days work?

Travel from Istanbul through the Gallipoli battlefield sites on day 4 and stay at the included Canakkale hotel. Day 5 visits Troy and Pergamon, then ends at the Kusadasi hotel. Both days include lunch and transport. The Private day 5 itinerary also visits Troy’s Sacrificial Altars.

  • When can I book a balloon activity?

Day 12 is the first available morning after your Cappadocia hotel check-in. Choose a balloon flight or the separate ground-watching trip. The rest of the day is free, with one optional valley ride and the Turkish Night also available.

  • How demanding are the longer days?

Day 11 is a long road journey with the optional Konya break. Day 15 adds the Nemrut circuit after about six hours of driving, including the required 800-metre steep summit walk. Day 18 combines the early Gaziantep transfer, the full Halfeti and city itinerary, and an evening flight. The five free days provide time between several of these sections.

  • Where do we stay during the southeastern section?

Stay one night in Adiyaman after the Nemrut sunset, then two nights in Sanliurfa. After the full Halfeti and Gaziantep tour, fly to Istanbul that evening. All four southeastern tour days include lunch.

  • Are the Antalya hotels on the beach?

High Class Antalya hotels are beachfront. Standard and Middle Class hotels are near the beach but are not beachfront. The package includes four Antalya nights and two full free days.

  • Is Cleopatra Antique Pool open for swimming?

Yes. Viewing the pool during the Pamukkale visit is free. You can swim by paying the additional swimming fee at the site.

  • Can we visit Mount Nemrut in winter?

Snow and ice can close the road and walking path to the summit, especially from December to March. Ask us to check access for your dates before booking. The sunset visit depends on safe, open access to the mountain.
