Leave your Istanbul hotel before dawn and take a morning flight to Cappadocia. An airport transfer connects you with the northern sightseeing route: Devrent, Pasabag, the Goreme viewpoint, Avanos, Zelve and an exterior view of Uchisar Castle. Lunch is included between the visits.
After the full tour, transfer to the airport for your evening flight to Istanbul and the included hotel return. Group options offer English or Spanish guiding; Private options offer English, Spanish or Italian. This trip has no Cappadocia overnight stay. Devrent ValleyLook for animal-like shapes among the naturally eroded rocks of Devrent, including the familiar camel-shaped formation. The stop introduces the rock shapes that feature throughout the northern route, with time to view them from the visitor paths.
Pasabag Open Air MuseumWalk among fairy chimneys with broad stone caps, including formations with several heads. Rock-cut cells and chapels show how people used these pillars as places of retreat. Follow the paths between the formations, with uneven ground and steps in places.
Goreme Panoramic ViewPause above Goreme to see the town, surrounding valleys and fields of fairy chimneys spread across the landscape. The view helps connect the individual stops and shows how homes and visitor routes fit around the rock formations.
Lunch at a local restaurantTake a break for the included lunch between visits. The afternoon continues with the remaining northern sights. Drinks with the meal are extra.
Avanos Pottery WorkshopWatch a local potter shape clay on the wheel and learn about the craft associated with Avanos and the Kizilirmak River. A visitor may be invited to try the wheel during the demonstration. Any pottery purchases are optional and paid separately.
Zelve Open Air MuseumExplore the former rock-cut settlement across its valleys, where homes, churches, a mosque and a mill reflect village life. Residents moved out in the 1950s; the remaining spaces are visited along outdoor paths with slopes and steps.
Uchisar Castle (exterior view)Stop outside the rock citadel to see its height above the village and the openings carved into its sides. This is an exterior viewpoint visit; entry to the castle and the climb to the top are not included.

Planning the early flight, sightseeing day and return to Istanbul.
- Does this trip include a hot-air balloon activity?
No. Balloon activities take place around sunrise, before this itinerary arrives in Cappadocia. Choose an itinerary with arrival the previous day if you want to add a balloon activity.
- Which sights are on the Red Tour?
Devrent Valley, Pasabag Open Air Museum, the Goreme panoramic viewpoint, an Avanos pottery workshop, Zelve Open Air Museum and an exterior view of Uchisar Castle. Lunch is included between the visits.
- How much luggage can I take?
Your flight tickets include 15 kg checked luggage and 8 kg cabin luggage per person. Additional luggage can be added for a fee during online check-in. Keep the items you need during the visits in a small day bag.
- Do I need to book accommodation in Cappadocia?
No overnight stay in Cappadocia is needed for this day-trip itinerary. Airport transfers connect the flights with the tour, and the return transfer ends at your Istanbul hotel. Accommodation in Istanbul is arranged separately.
- How much walking should I expect?
There are walks at the sightseeing stops, with uneven rock paths, slopes and steps at the outdoor sites. Zelve is a former settlement spread across valleys. Uchisar Castle is viewed from outside, with no climb to the top.
