Tour Overview

Start with Istanbul's Old City and a shared Bosphorus lunch cruise. Visit Gallipoli, Troy, Pergamon, Ephesus and Pamukkale. Stay four nights in Antalya for two tours and a free day. Continue by road to Cappadocia, with two hours to explore Konya on your own.

The first Istanbul stay separates the Old City morning from the Bosphorus lunch cruise. From there, the route continues through Gallipoli, Troy and Pergamon to Kusadasi, with Ephesus and Pamukkale before the Antalya stay.

Antalya has a full free day and two guided tours. One covers the city, waterfalls and a boat trip. The other visits Perge, Aspendos, Side and Manavgat Waterfall. A vehicle and driver then take you to Cappadocia via an independent Konya stop. The Red and Yellow Tours precede your one domestic flight back to Istanbul. For a shorter route focused on the Aegean sites, browse our Ephesus and Pamukkale tours.

  • Hagia SophiaVisit the great domed building whose architecture reflects both Byzantine and Ottoman Istanbul. Your guide explains how its changing religious roles shaped the spaces and details you see.

  • Grand BazaarCovered shopping streets bring jewellery, textiles and ceramics into the same maze of lanes. The guided morning finishes here, leaving you time to browse without a scheduled Group hotel return.

Approximate sightseeing start after lunch; stop order can vary.Guided Gallipoli battlefield visitsMeet your licensed guide for the afternoon circuit. The listed visits and onward transport to Canakkale are included.

  • Gallipoli Battlefield AreasThe tour follows the landscape of the 1915 campaign from the landing shores to the ridges above. Your guide connects the individual stops with the wider struggle for the Dardanelles.

  • Brighton BeachThis more open stretch of shoreline offers a useful comparison with the cramped landing ground farther north. The view helps explain why the position of the landings mattered.

  • Beach CemeteryRows of graves occupy a narrow coastal site near the former beach positions. The setting makes the closeness of the wartime burial ground to the fighting particularly clear.

  • ANZAC CoveStand beside the small landing beach and look towards the steep slopes immediately inland. The terrain provides a direct sense of the difficulties encountered after the landings.

  • Ari BurnuAt the headland beside the cove, the shoreline changes direction beneath the ridges. The cemetery and coastal views form another part of the account of the landing sector.

  • Lunch at a local restaurantA restaurant lunch is included in the Gallipoli itinerary before the main afternoon circuit. Drinks are charged separately.

  • Lone Pine CemeteryVisit the cemetery and memorial on the ridge associated with the August fighting. The guide relates the present memorial landscape to the positions held during the campaign.

  • Johnston's JollyThe opposing lines were close together on this part of the ridge. Trench traces and the cemetery help your guide explain the confined ground and the conditions of the front.

  • Shrapnel ValleyLook along the valley that linked the beach area with positions on the ridge. Its shape explains the importance of this route for moving men and supplies inland.

  • Turkish MemorialThis stop introduces the Ottoman defenders’ experience of the campaign. Your guide places the memorial within the same battlefield story told at the nearby Allied sites.

  • The NekA narrow ridge carried the attacks remembered at The Nek. Seeing its limited width helps put the fighting into perspective beyond the familiar accounts of the charge.

  • Chunuk BairThe high ground gives a broader view across the peninsula. Memorials here recall the August struggle for the ridge and the importance of controlling its commanding position.

  • Pergamon AcropolisThe acropolis rises above the plain on a series of terraces. Follow the main remains with your guide to see how the ancient city used this steep hilltop.

  • Temple of AthenaThe sanctuary terrace formed part of Pergamon’s civic and religious centre. Its remaining foundations help outline the temple’s position within the upper city.
